My Medium Earnings and Results - June 2025
With the general decrease in Medium earnings, I’d like to share how I made more from other activities
This is a report of my Medium and other earnings for June 2025. I am publishing it on Substack because if I were to publish it on Medium with a paywall, I would be in ‘violation’ of Medium’s policies and could end up being permanently banned from Medium’s Partner program.

Other Statistics
Previous month’s figures are shown in brackets.

Email subscribers: 27 (13)
Many writers will have noticed a surge in sign-ups for email notifications of their stories in June. This was because Medium changed the sign-up process so that you are automatically subscribed to receive emails when you follow a writer.
I don’t know about you, but I like to select which stories I read, and I don’t want to have my inbox flooded with emails.
Another concern that I have is if I have to switch off email notifications when I don’t want to sign up, writers might think I am doing this to grab their attention and to pull the wool over their eyes.
This surge in sign-ups will decrease when readers discover what’s happening.
Learning Pages Memberships
Learning Pages Members have access to all my articles and resources. You can see a list of detailed benefits at:

This month’s income was £38.80 (~$52.76) after card-processing fees had been deducted.
World of Books
I have an online bookstore, but there’s no way it can compete with the likes of Amazon. So, I decided to reduce my stock by selling some books to World of Books (referral link — we both earn £5 for your first trade).
World of Books works by scanning or manually entering your books ISBNs. Once you’ve reached the minimum, you can drop your packed books off at a locker or have them picked up by a courier.
Even though World of Books doesn’t buy every book that‘s submitted, and it does pay much per book, I still earned £21.78 (~$29.74) this month.
Conclusions
Like many other writers, I have noticed that my earnings per read have plummeted. This is probably due to a change in the algorithm that included Medium taking a greater proportion of the earnings.
My earnings from other sources were considerably more than I would earn on Medium in a year.
In fact, this month’s Learning Pages subscriptions would more than cover the cost of a year’s Medium membership!
